I believe that He …
I believe that He saved me and that my relationship with Him goes way beyond mere sin and confession. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
God bless you brother

And if you forget …
And if you forget one? Is it the act of repentance or the heart of repentance? Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Do what ever it …
Do what ever it takes brother. Be blessed. Do not load anyone down with burdens. Find fellowship even with people who may understand something different. We both believe the same things I believe, but where we differ is in our own interpretations. No worries. It is all Jesus here. EGW deserves alot of credit for what she has done for the body of Christ. She devoted her life to Christ and spent decades with scholars studying the bible and writing guides.I dont see how she can go wrong. Beblessed.

So all I need to do …
So all I need to do is confess and I will be right with God? I think you are taking EGW words to extreme. I am not SDA, but I will say that both of your sides that you have seperated are justified. I hope that your confessions are from the heart and that you are not like a dog returning to its vomit. I know that what really matters is that I turn away from my sin. I know that even when someone has confessed Jesus as LORD even they face judgement.

“you are taking the …
“you are taking the need of repentance away”
Bible:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
EGW:
The blood of Christ, while it was to release the repentant sinner from the condemnation of the law, was not to cancel sin

That is why we have …
That is why we have confession, to come into communion with God and agree with Him that our sins are detestable and to ask Him for strength in character development, to live more like Jesus every day. If my sins are still witnessing against me then why should I even confess. What if I forgot one? am I doomed? According to EGW the answer is yes. According the the Bible, the answer is NO since His blood cleanses me from all sin, present tense.

The IJ teaches that …
The IJ teaches that sins are being “taken care of” but have not been forgiven at all but; sit in Heaven still witnessing against us until all of our life’s activity is weighed in the balances, and THEN God will decide whether to forgive and who can enter Heaven. This is not Bible Gospel at all. The Bible says that if we confess He is faithful to forgive and to cleanse us, not in the future, but today. Tomorrow’s sins are covered by the blood of Christ as well for the true follower.

How can you say …
How can you say that SDA abuse the law when they are the only people who still really respect it. Law reveals sin. God never changes. His character is revealed through His Law. To say that all my sins future and past sins are forgiven to me sounds like you are taking the need of repentance away. We are saved through Grace and judged according to our works. Not all those who call on Jesus’ name will be saved. Why is this?! Watch Paul Washers- shocking message video(full length)

Of course we should …
Of course we should try to walk uprightly, but we have an advocate.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
When I accepted Jesus I passed from death unto life. Now EGW will put my sins back on me because of my human weakness and put me back to death under the law.
I’m not talking cheap grace either. I’m talking about Pharisee-ism and abusing the law.

You have just left …
You have just left no room for a sinner to fall. If they do, then according to SDA teaching, they were not “sincere enough” in their repentance or they were “not walking the walk” and God takes those FORGIVEN sins which were cast into the depths of the sea and puts them back on the sinner because Ellen White still has those sins standing witness against the sinner in the sanctuary. What hopeless bondage is that??!!

We are forgiven …
We are forgiven through Jesus Christ. We must accept this redemption and repent from our sins. If we don’t repent the forgiveness is worthless. We will still be held according to those sins. God will jusge our hearts.

Amen to that. I …
Amen to that. I was a long time Adventist. I never had security in my salvation because of EGW’s teachings. When I heard the true gospel, I was so relieved. I went back and restudied her writings and found them to be in great contradiction with the gospel and the Bible in general. I rejected the faith and my SDA family rejected me. Small price to pay for freedom in Christ

In order for there …
In order for there to be unity in the Body of Christ, the SD church needs to be in harmony with the Bible Gospel. This cannot happen if they teach that Christ’s atonement was incomplete at the cross; or that God forgives our sins but still keeps a log of them on the books in Heaven so He can judge us for our forgiven sins, which is exactly what the Investigative Judgment teaches.

No that’s not what …
No that’s not what I mean lol. Everything the SDA guy said was true and yet he is being persecuted. So erase any previous thoughts on SDA and listen to the conversation. Unity in the body of Christ ?!?!?!?!

uhmmm … SDA left …
uhmmm … SDA left speechless many times when confronted with Biblical truth you mean ?

i too once was an …
i too once was an adventist…but then i said enough with EGW. Just use the bible. Remember it’s our relationship with God that counts, not a banner!
February 27th, 2009 at 5:17 am
i say drop white …
i say drop white and just use the bible. You can’t give me good reasons why not! Please remember it’s our relationship with God not a banner on a door that counts,

SDA with the win….
SDA with the win….

The problem would …
The problem would be accepting her as a prophet when her prophecies have failed and her writings have been in direct conflict with scripture.

If I tell my son, ” …
If I tell my son, “Don’t smoke,” and he goes and smokes, am I going to now excommunicate him from my family? Am I going to call him no longer my son? No, he’s my family no matter if he smokes or not, but I’m still going to say don’t smoke. Is it only not perfectionism if I say, “well, hope you don’t smoke, try not to, k?”
February 27th, 2009 at 5:17 am
Even Paul told the …
Even Paul told the Church, “follow me as I FOLLOW Christ.” Meaning, follow God’s prophets, pastors, whoever, only when they are in line with God’s Word and Scripture/principles.
Even Jeremiah went through a period where he doubted God because of the struggles in his life. If you remember Jonah, Prophet of God yet didn’t obey until he was swallowed by a whale.
Only authority that we can be assured of ALL OF THE TIME, is God Almighty, Amen.

i understand how …
i understand how accepting Ellen White’s Writing can be hard but i must say two things; first, it is impossible to call yourself seventh-day adventist without accepting her writings becauses that is one of the things that makes us SDA and second, 2 Chronicles 20:20 Says “Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.”
February 27th, 2009 at 5:17 am
I am finding that a …
I am finding that a lot of SDA’s are distancing themselves from EGW these days. They are afraid of what new converts might think if their true beliefs of her as a prophet were made known. I am an ex-SDA and we had Bible studies where we were instructed to leave our SDA hats at the door until newcomers were comfortable. They hide their true beliefs until they win an outsiders trust, .. pure deception …

You’re lucky. …
You’re lucky. SDA’s usually pour EG White down your throat when you get baptized. I remember asking my sabbath school teacher where I could find her in the Bible and she said, you can’t. So I said why is she important? She said she is the prophet on whose authorative interpretations and visions we base our beliefs. Not once did she mention Jesus in the conversation. Good Luck to you.
