providing catholics are spiderman and protestants are batman. Spiderman would definitely win

This is like a …
This is like a debate over who would win in a fight, Batman or Spiderman.

first of all all …
first of all all you people who ar eignorant…catholics are christians and pretoestants are christian there is just a split…ccatholics, protestants who are branched off ex: anglican, methodist seventh adventist etc

But most of the …
But most of the time, we will still continue to fall and sin and we can’t blame our human nature for the actual sinning itself or it would be like saying “The devil made me do it.” And if we are to be responsible for our sins and repent, only then is Christ’s blood sufficient enough to rid us of that sin for as many times as we repent. That’s the sufficiency or we would never have to accept Him to begin with. He’d have just cleansed us of sin once and for all and we’d have to do nothing.

You are right what …
You are right what your talking about is Hipocracy… BUT when you accept Christ WITH YOUR HEART you WILL CHANGE…

“What are trying to …
“What are trying to say exactly huh??? so we can settle this..”
To simplify, here’s what I’m saying:
Christians aren’t saved once only. It’s a process and entirely up to us to continue to persevere in our faith. A once good Christian can go to if he no longer repents of his sins for example.
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
That the once ‘ …
That the once ’saved always saved’ doctrine has been invented recently and never was a teaching amongst the early Christian Church.
And it’s highly unlikely it will be settled as our interpretation of Scripture differs.
One thing I’ve learned when debating a protestant. They never change their ideas unless prior to the conversation, they are confused and searching for answers. They may change however if it’s a ‘bible only’ believer debating them as they give them more credibility.

What are trying to say exactly huh??? so we can settle this..

Actually, not …
Actually, not repenting is abusing your Salvation. Why do you even have to accept Christ’s gift may I ask? Why didn’t Christ just die for us without us doing anything. I’ll tell you why. Because WE ALSO have to do our part as well. Even you believe this, except you somehow think it just stops right after the first time. That is just crazy thinking man!

He was speaking of …
He was speaking of original sin here and all doesn’t mean all in that language in case you want to know.
Another thing, if you seriously now are saying we shouldn’t be at fault for our sins because our nature is making us, then you really need to think about that. Even if we may be inclined to want to sin, we can still, if Graced by God, avoid it till death. It’s not impossible. Sin is done using our own free will.
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
we sin because it …
we sin because it is in OUR NATURE IN THE FLESH… you cannot prevent from sinning that is why God sent Jesus to die on the cross and Rose FROM THE DEAD on the 3rd day… because even before Jesus was BORN we were already CONDEMNED TO HELL… WE ALL FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD… John 14:6 “I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE NO ONE COMES TO THE LORD EXCEPT THROUGH ME” (Jesus was speaking here) so it is very clear only Jesus can save us…
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
When you accept …
When you accept Jesus your heart already wants to repent from sin… and its also COMMON SENSE that ofcourse you have to also try to prevent your self from sinning…
if you do keep sinning like you always do after recieving Christ it’s called ABUSING your Salvation…
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
“to say that we …
“to say that we need repentance to be saved means that Jesus dieng on the cross was not enough to save us.”
Not at all. It’s very much sufficient so long as we do our part and show a contrite heart everytime we sin.
You make it seem we should now longer be held accountable for our own sinful actions.
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
Sin is knowingly …
Sin is knowingly and willingly doing something against the will of God. It takes precedence over the love we have for God.
To repent is to say I’m sorry. Without acknowleging your wrongs and wanting to change, Christ’s salvic Graces will not work.
You’re taking verses out of context and making an entire argument around them. You really do need to show me proof of a once saved always saved Doctrine being 2000 years old.
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
Sin is anything …
Sin is anything that contradicts God’s rules not someone who loves evil. Also just because we are saved does not mean we cannot sin we are still able to because we are humans. We are not saved through repentance but we are saved by accepting that Jesus died for us because we are sinners, to say that we need repentance to be saved means that Jesus dieng on the cross was not enough to save us. 1 John 5:12 “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
One who is at the …
One who is at the time rejecting God without repenting is not saved. To be saved is to repent over and over and over again EVERYTIME you sin.
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
Also, if God’s bond …
Also, if God’s bond with you on Earth is sooooo powerful, you would not sin. Because what is sin? It’s one who loves evil. That is not a bond. It’s a rejection of the Goodness of which God is.
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
I’ve already shown …
I’ve already shown you verses where it says this. God cannot take away our free will. For you to suggest we can accept him, then commit murder is ludicrous. And to then say “you weren’t already saved then” is just as crazy. Many people will attest to the fact they loved God one day then not, years down the road, then gained it back after that as well. If they had died when they rejected God, then they would not be saved to put it simply.
2000 years old? Try no more than 500.
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
Its not a new …
Its not a new invention unless you count 2000 years new. Where in the Bible does it say that you can lose your salvation? Is God not powerful enough to create such a powerful bond?
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
You aren’t re-doing …
You aren’t re-doing anything. I can likewise ask you the same thing. It’s how you interpret Scripture. When they say that Christ redeemed us in context it means if we repent of our sins, then the Salvic Graces from His Cross would continue to cleans us of sin. Otherwise I can sin, confess and never have to confess again yet I’m saved. The Once saved always doctrine saved is a new invention of Bible only believers.
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:15 pm
Yes you could say …
Yes you could say that. Where does God say that you must redo your salvation? To say that you must renew your salvation suggest that God is not powerful enough to create a covenant to last forever.

WoWuser, are you a …
WoWuser, are you a ‘Once Saved Always Saved’ believer?
“He who endures to the end will be saved” (Matt. 24:13.
Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord” shall enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 7:21)
(Philippians 2:12) “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

What does Catholicism teach then on how you are saved? I was a Catholic for almost half my life and I just want to try to make sure I had it right.
